2026 is officially here, and we are back in the kitchen cooking up all the yummy dairy-free meals! I started Our Beautiful Chaos last year because, honestly, I struggled to find dairy-free recipes that were simple, family-friendly, and actually good. The dairy-free community can feel really small sometimes, and there were days I felt like I had no one to turn to for recipes, advice, or even product recommendations.

My oldest son, Adrian, has had an anaphylactic dairy allergy since he was very young. If you’re an allergy mom, you know that feeling, standing in the grocery store reading labels and seeing “contains milk” on what feels like everything. It can feel overwhelming and lonely. I wanted this blog to be a place where another mom could come and feel a little less lost.

I also wanted to create something meaningful for the future. A place our family (and extended family) can look back on and find simple, easy recipes to make whenever they want to invite Adrian over for a meal. There was a time when I worried my son wouldn’t be able to enjoy all the yummy meals and desserts other kids take for granted. That fear pushed me to get creative and committed to making as many dairy-free meals, snacks, and desserts as possible things Adrian and our whole family can enjoy together.

Even though Adrian is the only one with a dairy allergy, we eat dairy-free most of the time to avoid cross contamination and keep him safe. There are moments when the other boys enjoy dairy, and that’s okay too. As they’ve gotten older, they understand that dairy can be life-threatening for their brother, and they truly don’t mind dairy-free cheese or alternatives. When they ask for dairy milk or cheese, I make sure they get it so they can still enjoy the benefits of dairy. While keeping safety our top priority.

Now we’re heading into a new year with 12 months of recipes to cook, share, and post here on the blog, and I’m so excited for what’s ahead. Thank you for being here, for supporting our journey, and for sharing in this beautiful chaos with us.

Please feel free to share the blog and let me know if you enjoy any of the recipes. I truly love hearing from you.
