Cinnamon Sugar Air Fryer Chickpeas Recipe!

Crispy, sweet, and allergy-safe! These dairy-free vegan cinnamon sugar chickpeas make the perfect budget-friendly snack!

Cinnamon Sugar Air Fryer Chickpeas Recipe!

Equipment

  • Collander to rinse and drain the chickpeas
  • Air fryer
  • Mixing bowl
  • Silicone spatula or spoon
  • Clean towel or paper towels for drying the chickpeas for drying the chickpeas
  • Airtight jar or snack container for storage

Ingredients

  • 2 cans Canned chickpeas (15.5 oz garbanzo beans) drained and rinsed
  • 1 to 2 tbsp Neutral oil or cooking spray avocado or canola work great
  • 2 tbsp Brown sugar or use coconut sugar for a refined sugar-free version
  • 1 tsp Ground cinnamon

Instructions

  • Rinse and drain your chickpeas. Lay them on paper towels to dry for 10 to 15 minutes, patting if needed.
  • Whilst the chickpeas are drying, preheat your air fryer to 395oF.
  • Once dry, place the chickpeas in your preheated air fryer, and spray them with 1 - 2 tbsp oil, tossing to coat.
  • Spread the chickpeas in a single layer, giving them space to crisp up.
    Air fry for 20 minutes, shaking the basket every 5 minutes throughout, to make sure they cook evenly.
  • When they're done air fryer place your chickpea into a mixing bowl and add your brown sugar and cinnamon immediately, tossing to coat.
    Top Tip - You can spray a little oil over the chickpeas again at this stage so they grab hold of the brown sugar and cinnamon a little easier!

Storage & Serving Tips

  • Store any leftovers in an airtight jar or snack container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
  • For extra crunch, pop them back in the air fryer for 2 minutes before serving.
  • These make a great topping for yogurt (dairy-free of course), smoothie bowls, or even salads for a little sweet crunch!
